Job Description

The Position:
We are looking for an independent contractor to teach at our Chilliwack Truth Community Connections program location. Community Connections (CC) are in person learning opportunities that are typically one-half to one full day per week, usually between 12 and 24 weeks. At CC, students participate in meaningful and hands-on activities in a class setting with a home-education flavour led by teachers with some community or parent instructors.

Science, Social Studies, Art or ADST(Grades 6-8)
0.15 FTE, one day (Tuesdays) on-site for 24 weeks at Camp Charis in Chilliwack, BC
2026-27 school year


Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • BC Teacher Certification is an asset

  • Previous experience teaching relevant subjects

  • Previous experience teaching CC/CC+ is preferred

  • Ability to build relationships and work relationally with students, parents, coordinator and other team members

  • Flexible attitude towards adapting to students and situation

We are looking for BC Certified Teachers to teach in-person at our Chilliwack Community Connections+ program location. Community Connections Plus (CC+) are in-person learning opportunities that are one full day per week for 30 weeks where students collaborate in a class setting with a home-education flavour with a focus on meaningful and hands-on learning activities. CC+ classes are led by BC certified teachers fully responsible for covering all CC+ course outcomes.

There are two teaching roles available, that may be filled by 1-2 qualified applicants:
