Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, temporary position as an Intermediate School Teacher. This position will commence in August 2026 and continue through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of becoming a continuing position.


Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Successful candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate

  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education

  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith

  • Have experience working in an elementary education environment. Experience working with special needs children would be an asset

  • Be a team player

  • Be fluent in oral and written English

Job Description

Pacific Academy is seeking trained applicants interested in joining our school team to provide support for students.
Pacific Academy is seeking qualified applicants to join our school team in supporting student learning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to foster student growth and development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide various push-in and pull-out support to students with diverse learning needs

  • Assist with the implementation of accommodations based on a child’s IEP under the direction of the Case Manager and/or teacher  

  • Work as part of a team of Education Assistants

  • Assist students with emotional regulation.

Qualifications

  • Education Assistant certificate

  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome and other diverse needs an asset

  • Criminal Record Check

  • Understanding of and commitment to Christian Education

  • Friendly, flexible, self-motivated, team player

  • Fluent in oral and written English

  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively, and be willing to cooperate in the planning and implementation of project based units with the grade team

  • Have experience or willingness to participate in outdoor education planning and trips (i.e. Hiking, canoeing, snowshoeing)

  • Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, grade level core subjects (Faith and Learning, Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Social Studies and Outdoor Education)
