Qualifications:

Successful candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate

  • Be fluent in oral and written English

Job Description

Pacific Academy is seeking a full-time, enthusiastic Auxiliary Program Assistant for a year-round position, supporting the coordination and implementation of various supplementary programs. As an integral member of the team, the Auxiliary Program Assistant will assist the Program Director in organizing after school activities, coordinating extracurricular activities and summer programs and supporting instruction as needed.

Responsibilities include administrative tasks, communication with students and parents, and logistical support.

Working hours:

  • During the school year:

    • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday : 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
      Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

  • During non-school days:

    • Typically: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

    • Some flexibility may be possible if no programs or camps are running (infrequent)

Please note: Due to the nature of this role, regular on-campus presence is required and remote work options are not available.

Pacific Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and competent individual to join our Before and After School Care (BASC) team. The BASC Worker will provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students outside regular school hours. We are committed to developing a high-quality program with a creative, friendly team that works collaboratively to support our students.

Duties:

  • Supervise and engage with students during before and after school care hours.

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities.

  • Lead and direct group activities, using appropriate guiding and caring techniques for school-aged children.

  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students to build positive relationships and ensure clear understanding

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate behavior of all students in the program.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe space in accordance with school policies and health and safety regulations.

Scheduled Hours:

Candidates may choose to work during school days, non-school days, or both, with options for mornings, afternoons, or a combination of both.

School Days:

  • 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM

  • 7:30 AM - 8:15 AM

  • 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM

  • 2:45 Pm - 5:45 PM

Non-School Days:

  • 6:45 AM - 10:45 AM

  • 7:30 AM - 2:00 PM

  • 10:45 AM - 5:00 PM

  • 2:00 PM - 5:45 PM


Job Requirements

  • Support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith and participate in a local church

  • Responsible Adult certification (20 hours of courses related to childcare)

  • Emergency First Aid CPR/AED Level C (Current certification required)

  • Valid Criminal Record Check • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is preferred
