Trinity Christian Academy, a member of Golden Hills School Division No. 75, is currently accepting applications for a part-time Chapel Coordinator/Chaplain. Trinity Christian Academy is located in Strathmore, Alberta and is 25 minutes from Calgary city limits.

The successful candidate will report to and be directly responsible to the Principal of the school and will work closely with staff, students, and parents to help foster community life and organize chapels. The expected hours are between 15-20 hours a week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement a broader discipleship program by leveraging the relationship with college students.

  • Coordinate key special events such as Grad Retreat, Grad Trip, and Grad After Party in collaboration with Student Development and BCA staff.

  • Provide pastoral care to BCA students both as a matter of course and when specific situations arise.

  • Maintain a strong presence in the halls of BCA, developing relationships broadly with a diverse group of students.

  • Participate in BCA staff meetings for building relationships.

  • Contribute to the larger Student Development team through participation in meetings, through Student Leadership Training times, and by informally encouraging colleagues.

  • Meet regularly with BCA RD’s to discuss the overall climate of BCA and the areas of possible growth and improvement.

  • Serve on the BCA Discipleship Team.

  • Serve as the point person for BCA at Youth Quake and recruit a team of volunteers to serve and care for them that weekend.

  • Prepare students for engaging the broader world after they graduate from BCA.

  • Envision and execute new ways of calling BCA students to be formed into the image of Christ and live lives of surrender, pursuit, community, service, and mission.

  • Execute all of the above within the parameters outlined in Briercrest policies and procedures, particularly the Child Protection Policy.

TEAM RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Director of Student Development through a weekly meeting.

  • Works in cooperation with the BCA Administration and teaching staff.

  • Partners with BCA Residence Directors and serves alongside the larger Student Development team.
