Job Description

The Position:

We are looking for an independent contractor for the 2025-26 school year who is certified to teach in BC for both Spanish and SEAL Courses totaling a 0.2 FTE. SEAL Missions is a grade 10-12 program that focuses on travel and outreach with the goal of helping students grow in their own faith. The right candidate will feel comfortable teaching:

  • Spanish 10-12

  • SEAL Christian Studies 10-12

  • SEAL Leadership 10-12


Job Requirements

SEAL Responsibilities:

  • BC Certified Teacher

  • Have previous experience learning international student ministry teams

  • Plan, deliver and facilitate SEAL Christian Studies course (4 credits) and SEAL Leadership 10 course (4 credits).

  • Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning in SEAL Christian Studies (4 credits) and SEAL Leadership (4 credits) courses.

  • Attend an overnight retreat in November with new SEAL Team

  • Travel with and take guardianship responsibility for student team while in Guatemala for 10-12 days

  • Lead weekly 1-hour zoom classes throughout the school year.

  • Work in Brightspace to deliver course content and record student progress/achievement

  • Be fluent in Spanish – to translate while in Guatemala with Impact Ministries staff

Online Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 2 years online teaching experience

  • Host weekly online Spanish classes

  • Teach both synchronous and asynchronous Spanish courses grades 10-12

  • Strong communication skills

Job Description

We are looking for remote, Inclusive Education (Special Education) Teachers who are certified to teach in BC for the 2025-26 school year. Inclusive Education Teachers (or Case Managers) partner with families to create an individualized education plan according to each student’s designation, working alongside the IE team to ensure academic success of learners with diverse abilities.

What we offer:

  • Competitive Wage: $67k- $92K/year based on 1.0 FTE and depending on experience and certifications

Responsibilities:

  • Lead co-creation of the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) with the IEP team – parents, teacher, Education Assistant (EA), and other necessary professionals – ensuring that goals are relevant to the student’s designation and special needs.

  • Direct and/or coordinate the IEP team throughout the year while ensuring implementation of IEP goals

  • Draft a student budget proposal based on the needs presented in the IEP, including plans for spending the Student Learning Plan (SLP)

  • Oversee and manage approved student support plan spending through:

    • Scheduling and monitoring assessments, appointments, contracted professional services, and external programs

    • Purchasing approved IE resources, and SLP Encom curriculum purchases

    • Connect with the student & primary home educator a minimum of four times a year (initial, Term 1, Term 2, and final), through in-person visits whenever possible.

    • Gather evidence of progress towards IEP goals, with and from the IEP team
      Evaluate and report progress within the IEP at each report card term.

    • Keep records and document progress as required by HCOS and the Ministry of Education

    • Become proficient at IE-specific technology and software programs

Job Description

Flex Academy has an opening for a permanent Assistant Director: Foundations, operating as a Vice-Principal of Flex Academy.
