Position Title: Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience with accounting software, contributing to the overall efficiency of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.

  • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll inquiries.

  • Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs).

  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.

  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including T4 processing and PIER reports.

  • Maintain employee payroll records and update changes as needed.

  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data.

  • Utilize payroll software (experience with Sage is a plus) for payroll processing.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

  • Administer benefits as needed.
