Job Description
The Position:
HCOS has an opening for a full-time, Director of Inclusive Education! Working either remotely or onsite in Kelowna, BC, the Director of Inclusive Education (IE) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality IE programming that aligns with the broader mission of HCOS. This role cultivates a collaborative environment focused on the safety, welfare, and success of students with diverse needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
IE Department Leadership
Oversee IE service delivery, including divisional vision, training and professional development, evaluation, participation at educational events and conferences, and practical structures such as meeting schedules and agendas
Collaborate with other HCOS Leaders in areas of shared student oversight
Partner with the Assistant Directors of IE and IE leadership around hiring, supporting, and managing contractors and employees
Oversee the strategic development and delivery of professional learning within the IE division
IE Finance and ComplianceSet student projection numbers with Assistant Directors of IE, collaborate on budget plans and monthly financial reporting with Assistant Director of IE and Chief Operating Officer
Collaboratively oversee IE office finance systems, related databases, and IE-related policies with Assistant Directors of IE
Ensure compliance with government regulation, designation and maintenance of quality assurance systems
Give final approval of designations and extended enrolments with Assistant Directors of IE by funding report deadlines set out by Ministry of Education
Collaborate with Assistant Directors of IE to maintain systems in preparation for quality assurance & regulation audits
HCOS School Leadership
Contribute to schoolwide strategic planning, goal setting and implementation
Be a key contributor to the ongoing development of a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning ecosystem, designed to ensure the safety, welfare, and conduct of students and staff while participating in all school programs. Including helping to oversee Student at Risk teams for high-needs students.
Attend and participate in Director and school leadership meetings, travelling 3-5 days per month
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Demonstrates a commitment to, and a lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
2-5 years of school leadership experience
BC Certified Teacher with a Master degree in inclusive education or educational leadership preferred
Ability to build, lead, and inspire collaborative teams
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
Organized, detail-oriented, systems minded
Ability to manage, change, and adapt to varied workloads
Proficient technological skills and ability to manage multiple software programs at once
