Job Description

The Position:

We are looking for a part-time Education Assistant to work on-site one day per week in our Sunshine Coast Community Connections class for the 2025/26 school year. Additional hours supporting students in their family homes may be available.

Location: Sechelt, BC
Grades: 3–6
Schedule: Thursdays, 9:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Support the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person

  • Connect with students individually or in small groups

  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support delivery of personalized learning opportunities

  • Build relationships with families, teachers and other EAs
    Assist in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth

  • Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)

  • A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

  • Subject matter knowledge in the applicable grade levels or willingness to learn
