Job Description

We are looking for BC Certified Teachers to teach in-person at our Sumas Community Connections+ program location. Community Connections Plus (CC+) are in-person learning opportunities that are one full day per week for 30 weeks where students collaborate in a class setting with a home-education flavour with a focus on meaningful and hands-on learning activities. CC+ classes are led by BC certified teachers fully responsible for covering all CC+ course outcomes.

There are two teaching roles available, that may be filled by 1-2 qualified applicants:

  • Role 1:  PHE, Science and Social Studies (Grades 4/5)
    0.26 FTE; one day per week (Tuesday) on-site for 30 weeks at the Mill Lake Church in Abbotsford, BC
    2026-27 school year

  • Role 2: PHE, Science and Social Studies (Grades 4/5)
    0.26 FTE; one day per week (Thursday) on-site for 30 weeks at the Mill Lake Church in Abbotsford, BC
    2026-27 school year

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • BC Teacher Certification

  • Previous experience teaching relevant subjects

  • Previous experience teaching CC/CC+ is preferred

  • Ability to build relationships and work relationally with students, parents, coordinator and other team members

  • Flexible attitude towards adapting to students and situation

  • Demonstrate alignment with the following attitudes and attributes:
