Job Description
Foods Teacher (Grades 7–12) – Job Description
Teach foundational cooking and nutrition concepts to high school students
Instruct students in food preparation techniques, kitchen safety, and proper sanitation practices
Plan and deliver hands-on lessons in cooking, baking, meal planning, and food presentation
Introduce basic nutrition principles, including healthy eating habits and dietary awareness
Develop lesson plans that build practical life skills, organization, and time management
Supervise students in a kitchen environment, ensuring safe and responsible use of equipment
Assess student learning through practical labs, assignments, and participation
Maintain kitchen facilities, inventory, and food supplies within a set budget
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages collaboration and confidence
Support school events or programs that involve food preparation (e.g., catering, fundraisers)
Communicate student progress with parents/guardians and collaborate with staff as needed
