Job Description
Flex Academy is looking for Education Assistants! Education Assistants support the student(s) assigned to them in collaboration with the classroom teachers. CEA/EAs provide program support, behavior and academic interventions, and encouragement to promote student success based on a student’s individualized goals.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions:
Full-time and part-time EA’s to finish the 2025-26 school year (starting as soon as possible until June 2026)
Casual-on-Call Education Assistants (Starting April 2026)
Full-time and part-time EA’s for the 2026-27 school year (starting August 2026)
As the CEA/Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:
Provide the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to whole person
Connect with students individually or in small groups
Collaborate with teaching staff to support delivery of personalized learning opportunities
Collaborate with other departments in Student At-Risk Team meetings when required
Build relationships with families, teachers and EA’s
Maintaining daily communication with students, families, staff and other stakeholders
Support Inclusive Education Department, administration, and teaching staff with delivery of IEP’s
Effectively advocate for emerging student needs and document the impact of (or need for) supports
Attend school field trips as required
Ensure safety standards are upheld, according to school policies
Work effectively and as an active member of the staff teams, assisting with other duties and responsibilities as requested
Job Requirements
We are looking for educators with the following qualities:
Background working in Education, EA Support, Behavior Intervention, or with children, youth
Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset
Subject matter knowledge in the applicable grade levels or willingness to learn
