Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Education Assistant to work with two students in the family home and in the community for the 2026-27 school year. This is a 10-25 hours/week contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

Location: Chilliwack, BC
Grades: 8-12 (Life skills and community access)
Schedule: 10-25 hours per week during school hours (Monday-Friday)

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the social, spiritual, behavioural, and learning needs of a student, providing mentorship to the whole person.

  • Supporting participation in community-based programming and activities, both formal and individually planned.

  • Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities.

  • Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team.


Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth.

  • Strong leadership skills and confidence in guiding and mentoring youth.

  • Experience working with ASD, FASD, PDA, or similar support needs is considered an asset.

  • Experience supporting students who may demonstrate challenging or unconventional behaviours in some settings.

  • A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset.

  • Demonstrates alignment with our Biblical Attributes and a commitment to, and a lifestyle reflective of, the KCCS Foundational Beliefs.

  • Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, etc.

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license, and openness to driving to community outings and therapy appointments scheduled during service hours.
