Job Description

Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, continuing Outdoor Education Coordinator/Teacher position in our High School. This position will commence in August 2026.


Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Successful candidates should:

  • Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate

  • Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education

  • Have experience in program development and leadership

  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students

  • Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith

  • Hold a master’s degree in Christian Education, Outdoor Education, or other related areas

  • Have a minimum of 5-years of teaching experience

  • Be fluent in oral and written English

  • Have an ability to teach various courses which may include: Social Studies, English, Physical and Health Education, Christian Perspectives, Anatomy & Physiology, or other relevant subjects

  • Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction: canoeing (flat and moving water), hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry travel

  • Hold suitable certifications related to risk management and outdoor education, such as avalanche training and wilderness first-aid

  • Have a willingness to attend all Summit trips, including monthly day trips, 8-10 multi-day back country trips, and 2-3 multi-week overseas trips

  • Hold a Class-2 bus license

  • Have experience managing budgets, outdoor gear procurement and maintenance
