Kindergarten Teacher – Temporary Full-Time (Maternity Leave Coverage)
January 18 – June 12, 2026
Kootenay Christian Academy – Cranbrook, BC
Kootenay Christian Academy (KCA) is seeking a warm, dedicated Kindergarten teacher to join our loving and supportive school community for a temporary full-time maternity leave coverage from January 18 to June 12, 2026.
KCA is a vibrant K–12 Christian school known for its caring staff, positive atmosphere, and strong sense of teamwork. Located in beautiful Cranbrook, BC, our community offers mountain views, outdoor recreation, and a friendly small-city feel.
Compensation:
$53,743 – $79,293 annually, depending on experience
Salary will be prorated for the term of the contract
Note: This temporary position does not include RRSP matching or benefits

Job Requirements
A valid BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)
Commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with KCA’s mission and values
Experience teaching early primary or Kindergarten (practicum or professional)
Strong classroom management and a nurturing, calm presence
Ability to create an engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment
Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Willingness to collaborate as part of a supportive team
Ability to plan, assess, and deliver curriculum effectively
Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic school setting
