Kindergarten Teacher – Temporary Full-Time (Maternity Leave Coverage)
January 18 – June 12, 2026
Kootenay Christian Academy – Cranbrook, BC

Kootenay Christian Academy (KCA) is seeking a warm, dedicated Kindergarten teacher to join our loving and supportive school community for a temporary full-time maternity leave coverage from January 18 to June 12, 2026.

KCA is a vibrant K–12 Christian school known for its caring staff, positive atmosphere, and strong sense of teamwork. Located in beautiful Cranbrook, BC, our community offers mountain views, outdoor recreation, and a friendly small-city feel.

Compensation:
$53,743 – $79,293 annually, depending on experience
Salary will be prorated for the term of the contract
Note: This temporary position does not include RRSP matching or benefits

Job Requirements

  • A valid BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one)

  • Commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with KCA’s mission and values

  • Experience teaching early primary or Kindergarten (practicum or professional)

  • Strong classroom management and a nurturing, calm presence

  • Ability to create an engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment

  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues

  • Willingness to collaborate as part of a supportive team

  • Ability to plan, assess, and deliver curriculum effectively

  • Adaptability and professionalism in a dynamic school setting
