Requirements/ Description:
Pacific Academy is inviting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, continuing Outdoor Education teacher position in the High School. This position will commence in August 2024.
Successful candidates should have the following Qualifications:
• Hold a valid British Columbia teaching certificate
• Possess an understanding of and commitment to Christian Education
• Actively and personally support a Pentecostal/Charismatic statement of faith
• Be fluent in oral and written English
• Have an ability to teach various courses which may include: Social Studies, English, Physical and Health Education, Christian Perspectives, or other relevant subjects
• Be able to collaborate on the development and implementation of Career Education with the High School Guidance Counsellor
• Be experienced in some or all of the following areas of instruction: canoeing (flat and moving water), hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, backcountry travel
• Hold suitable certifications related to outdoor education, or be willing to complete coursework within the year towards their attainment
• Have a willingness to attend all Summit trips, including monthly day trips, 8-10 multi-day back country trips, and 2-3 multi-day overseas trips
