ACSIWC exists to increase the effectiveness of your school. In pursuit of this objective, we started a summer institute for educational excellence several years ago. Our teachers and leaders want to improve their practice, but one-day events are often not enough to achieve this. On the other hand, many are not ready to pursue a post-secondary degree. As a result of these limitations, we created a 4 day intensive training experience focused on application of skills.
This year’s Summer Institute will run July 6–9 at Summit Pacific College in Abbotsford, BC. Overnight accommodation in the dorm is available. Although in-person participation is encouraged, ongoing pandemic restrictions may limit travel. For this reason, there is a virtual participation option available on the registration form.

COURSES & PRESENTERS
Course 1—Biblical Worldview Integration: Creating the Christ–Saturated Classroom
Presented by: Lizbee Wickett (Teacher Stream)
The most effective Christian school classroom will demonstrate every day, in all areas of classroom activity, that Jesus is the one who holds all things together and makes all knowledge connected and meaningful.
Course 2—Human Resource Management
Presented by Kory Sorensen (Administrator Stream–Advanced)
Institutional personnel include board members, management, staff, and volunteers. Leadership is responsible for aspects of recruitment, hiring, training, developing, motivating, compensating, and managing all personnel working for the organization. Human resources policies, principles, and procedures are examined for best practices. Due to the high number of potential volunteers in church and not for profit organizations, the elements of an effective volunteer program are determined.
Course 3—Christian School Leadership 101 (Introduction)
Presented by Christian Klaue (Administrator Stream–Foundational)
To succeed as a Christian school leader there is core set of competencies, skills and knowledge that will empower the leader to flourish in their career. In this course Christian school leaders, both those interested in moving into leadership positions and those starting their careers, will have opportunity to learn the basics together. This course will be an invaluable addition to excellent leadership preparation.
