Sessions

  • Clear Focus: Rediscovering the Most Important Aspect of Christian School Ministry

Christian schools are preparing students with the biblical truth necessary to “hold forth the word of life” (Phil. 2:16) to a generation that is being deceived with many counterfeits. In order to do this, our students need to have a clear focus on Jesus and on those He wants to rescue through their offer of biblical truth with unconditional love. So do we!

This workshop will equip leaders to sharpen their focus on Jesus and upon those He has entrusted to their care, providing a model for their teachers and students. Jesus’ own model of ministry will be examined to gain insight into how He rescued, redeemed, restored, and revived those He came to seek and to save.

  • Clear Focus: Learning to See Who More than What

How many students are in our classrooms, on our sports teams, or in our fine arts programs who desperately need our focused attention? How can we possibly meet their needs while keeping pace with all our additional responsibilities? The answer is simpler than we might imagine. When we focus intently on who, we begin to escape the tyranny of what steals the joy from our lives and service.

This workshop will equip leaders to become more intentional in their focus, learning to identify the categories of need and how to respond. Common causes of blurry focus will be explored as well as those things that encourage the development of clear focus in the Christian school classroom and school culture.

  • Clear Focus: An Incredible Walk with Jesus on the Road

The growing demands placed upon Christian educators are considerable: lesson preparation, grading responsibilities, parent conferences, administrative duties, special education documentation, behavior management, professional development, technological advancements, etc. It is easy for leaders and teachers to become overwhelmed and distracted from their primary calling and purpose—their students.

In this workshop, we will explore specific ways Jesus demonstrated clear focus in His own ministry walk and how we can develop our own model to ensure we have clear focus in our ministry walk in our classrooms and schools.

  • Clear Voice: Learning to Hear and Echo the Voice of the Lord

Christian educators have the distinct privilege and opportunity to “welcome God’s message with joy given by the Holy Spirit” and allow that message to ring out – echo – from us to and through our students. (I Thess. 1:6-7) In addition to this being one of the primary distinctives of a Christ-centered education, this echo effect of God’s Word has the potential for a tremendous impact for the Gospel.

In this workshop, we will explore specific ways for leaders to recognize God’s voice and hear it echoing through their own strategic voices of influence providing a model worthy of imitation by teachers and students.
